The Thermochip panels are normally placed on metal
or wooden structures. These three basic principles must be observed for proper
setup:
1.- Placement staggered, alternating cross joints between
panels.
2.- The panels shall be placed so that their greater sides are perpendicular
to the supports, the panel's lesser sides resting on them. A false tongue,
housed along the panel shall serve as a joint among the panels.
It's easy installation, versatility of use, and the safety and duration of
its useful life represent a set of notably significant economic advantages.
The distance between supports is based on the panel's thickness, the roof's
normal load and the foreseen overloads due to the influence of atmospheric
agents. Thus, once the panel thickness has been measured according to the
required level of thermal insulation, the gap shall be conditioned by the
limit of the arrow due to the permanent load and overloads of use, wind
and snow.
By way of information, the loads admitted by different panel types are admitted
according to the number of supports for regular arrow values.

Once the panels have been fastened to the bearing structure, it is a good
idea to then seal the joints and ensure that the roof's watertightness against
possible water leaks due to possible flaws in the covering or the action
of wind, birds, etc. This sealing may be done with liquid rubber, self-adhesive
waterproofing bands, silicone, polyurethane putty, bituminous sheets, etc.
Waterproofing of joints is especially advisable for joints produced by the
confluence of different roof gables (ridgepole, ceiling, wall, break, etc.)
The joint between Thermochip panels that display
sheets of plaster on their inner face, shall be also treated with plastic
with paste for joints before its final finish.
SLATE
Placement of slate must be done on a board nailed to the panels.
TILE
Placement of flat tiles will need a board previously fastened to the panels.
In the case of a curved tile, it is necessary to place some auxiliary elements
that ensure the mortar's adherence to the panel (chicken wire, mesh, "under
tile", etc.)
METAL SHEETING
Given its superficial uniformity and perfect flatness, the roofs built with
Thermochip sandwich panel meet all suitable conditions
with metal sheeting.
In this case, fastening of panels to the bearing structure must be done
with countersunk head sheet metal screws In any event, .it will be a good
idea for there to be a separating barrier between the metal sheets and the
panel in order to avoid possible condensation.
BITUMINOUS SHEETS
Just like in the previous case, sandwich panels constitute the ideal support
for covering with bituminous sheets or with any other material used in building
watertight roofs.
Thermochip panels are supplied palletized and protected
with a plastic cover. Pallets may be stacked provided the support base is
properly leveled.
It is recommended not to remove the protective cover or unwrap the pallet
until the panel is installed.
