Just behind the Puerta of the Sol in Vigo, is the city headquarters of the Official College of Architects of Galicia, a unique and modern work that stands out among the rest of the classic stone buildings. The six-story space, with multipurpose workplaces, and the conditioning of the plaza on which it stands was inaugurated in 2009, after a two-year project under the direction of the local studio Irisarri-Piñera. The school is integrated into the area in a very particular way, with a volumetric envelope, a translucent façade that reflects the changes in light as the day progresses, and accessibility adapted to the changes in elevation of the square. on the roof, 483 square metres of THERMOCHIP TFF are installed, a panel with a double veneered board manufactured for the occasion, which is part of one of the two layers of enclosure. These, separated from each other, are adapted to the bioclimatic principle of autonomous regulation and make the building a paradigm of energy efficiency and sustainability.
