Aid for energy efficiency projects from the JESSICA-FIDAE Fund

HeJESSICA-F.I.D.A.E Fundoffersaidsintended to finance projects related to the increase ofenergy efficiencyand the use of renewable energies in urban environments.Endowed with nearly 123 million euros, it is a fund financed by ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) andIDAE(Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving) and operated by the European Investment Bank (EIB).

REQUIRED REQUIREMENTS

Compatible with other public or private financing sources, the Fund will finance projects of Energy Services Companies(ESE) as well as other private companies or public-private entities, that meet the following conditions:

1. Be located in one of the ten specified autonomous communities:Andalusia, Canary Islands, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Ceuta, Valencian Community, Extremadura, Galicia, Melilla and Region of Murcia.

2. Be included in the sector of public or private buildings, industry, transport (public and private transport infrastructure, equipment and fleets (for public use) or energy-related public service infrastructure (Outdoor public lighting and traffic lights; Local infrastructure, including smart networks and information and communications technology (ICT) related to priority topics)

3. Be part ofenergy efficiency projectsand energy management: renovation of existing buildings, with actions in the thermal envelope, heating, cooling, lighting installations, etc.;
new buildings with an A or B energy rating; or renovation as well as extension of existing heat or cold networks.

4. Guarantee an acceptable return on investment.

5. Be included in integrated sustainable urban development plans.

6. Not being finalized at the time of receiving funding: the deadline for submitting applications ends onApril 30, 2015, although JESSICA funds may be transferred until December 31, 2015.

COSTS THAT FINANCE AID

Aid from the JESSICA-F.I.D.A.E Fund only finances investment expenses related to the increase inenergy efficiency, such as those related to construction and equipment. The expenses must be justified with invoices and be carried out in the territory of the Operational Programs financed by FIDAE.
