THERMOCHIP® sandwich panels to remodel the historic Sagarra Market in Barcelona

THERMOCHIP®covers the newly rehabilitatedSagarra Marketof Santa Coloma de Gramanet (Barcelona). The building, protected by the Special Heritage Protection Plan, has a roof of 525 square metres ofsandwich panels with plaster finish (THERMOCHIP® TYH) and 80 mm insulation.

The work, carried out by the company specialized in roofing TEULES 2001, involves the renovation of the city’s first municipal market, designed by architect Josep Alemany. Inaugurated in 1934, theSagarra MarketIt is a unique building, with a prism-shaped space and asloping roofgabled, symmetrically interrupted at two points to let in light.

PANELS FOR COMMUNITY BUILDINGS

The panelsTHERMOCHIP® PLASTER (TYH)It is made up of a water-repellent chipboard, an extruded polystyrene insulating core and a plasterboard inside. This finish, protected against fire with a B classification and with high acoustic performance, accepts any decorative treatment. Furthermore, our sandwich panels are especially interesting for buildings for community use. The space has a cover of light tones, which gives itmodernity and luminosityto the new facilities.

Thanks to this remodeling, the Sagarra Market has more space for fewer sales stalls. In addition, the rehabilitation includes the architectural elements of its façade, listed as local heritage of this Catalan town.
