THERMOCHIP®, a praise for wood in the expansion of the Hispania restaurant

The remodeling, published in the magazineInterior Designin 2010, combines the origins of this historic establishment located in Arenys de Mar (Barcelona) with acontemporary design.The choice of THERMOCHIP® sandwich panels to cover the interiors of the premises, open to the garden thanks to two glass facades, allowed forquick execution of the work, executed in just over three months. Sandwich panels facilitate and lighten construction thanks to their light structure. Furthermore, wood guarantees aadequate acousticsto a restaurant, thus creating a comfortable environment.

TheTHERMOCHIP® sandwich panels, formed by two wooden boards joined to an insulating core of rigid extruded polystyrene foam, provides the Hispania restaurant with acontinuous thermal insulationwhich guarantees its efficiency and energy savings.

A LIGHT AND SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION

Since its creation in 1952, theHispania restauranthas maintained its popularity over the years, thanks to the traditional Catalan cuisine of its owners and cooks, Paquita and Lolita Reixach. The architects wanted to respect the history of the establishment as much as possible, with alightweight, transparent construction90 square metres, totallywooden deck, a success for both the aesthetics and sustainability of the restaurant.
