THERMOCHIP® will cover the future Rehabilitation Training centre in Compostela

THERMOCHIP®will cover the futureReference Training centre in Rehabilitation Matters in Santiago de Compostela (Galicia). Our sandwich panels will be used for the rehabilitation of 1,400 m2 of the roof of theold tanneryof Pontepedriña de Arriba, of great architectural and ethnographic value, where the centre’s facilities will be located.

The work, which began at the end of 2013, will use a special panel THERMOCHIP®Consisting of a board with a 15 mm magnesite wood chip conglomerate finish, a 100 mm extruded polystyrene foam insulating core and an inner face with 22 mm OSB oriented particles. Ourwood sandwich panelscontribute to this restoration isolation, sound absorption and class B fire resistance. It is planned that the future State Rehabilitation Training centre, promoted by theConstruction Labor Foundation, be a reality in 2015.

RESTORATION OF THE OLD TANNERY

The project, located on the banks of the Sarela River, involves therehabilitation of the old tanneryof the 18th century and the construction of new facilities. This work is co-financed thanks to an agreement signed between the Construction Labor Foundation, the Santiago Consortium, the Ministry of Public Works, the Galician Housing and Solo Institute and the Department of Work and Welfare of the Xunta de Galicia. The new centre aims to become a reference training school at a national and international level towards new alternatives and professional opportunities such as the rehabilitation of buildings and public spaces.
