THERMOCHIP® renews the cover of the Mint of Segovia

TheMint of Segovia, an old industrial complex created in the 16th century, has been recovered with roofs made ofTHERMOCHIP® sandwich panels. Recovered as a museum in 2012, the restoration project received the second ‘World Heritage Cities’ award from the Ministry of Culture.

Converted into a flour factory, the Segovia Mint closed its doors in 1968. The complex, declaredAsset of Cultural Interest, is made up of four buildings (Museum, Cafeteria, Residence and cultural facilities). For its rehabilitation, completely renovated roofs with wooden trusses that imitate the originals have been installed.

For this,THERMOCHIP® wood sandwich panels They adapted perfectly to the project design. Made up of twoboards-an exterior made of water-repellent agglomerate and another interior with different decorative finishes- and aisolationof rigid extruded polystyrene foam up to 140 mm thick.

NEW CONTINUOUS INSULATION SYSTEM THERMOCHIP®

The current Mint, recovered for new uses between 2007 and 2011, has theTHERMOCHIP® continuous insulation system. This is a tongue-and-groove assembly method in which the four sides of the panel create a stable and homogeneous cover. This system eliminates the appearance of thermal bridges and facilitates theinstallation of the panels.

In addition, the Mint has the guarantee of the leader of sandwich panels on the market in Spain, saving time and costs.
