THERMOCHIP® rehabilitates the wooden roof of a farmhouse in Fonollosa

Insulation and aesthetics were the criteria that weighed the most in the choice of sandwich panelsTHERMOCHIP®to rehabilitate the roof of an old farmhouse in Fonollosa (Barcelona). For this, a panel was manufactured THERMOCHIP® wider and thicker than usual, made up of a 19 mm water-repellent chipboard, an 80 mm extruded polystyrene core and a 19 mm spruce frieze.

The finish chosen wasTHERMOCHIP® TAH, the panel with fir wood inside. As you can see in the photos, the work, made byReser Covers, included the installation of 180 square metres of wooden panels for a roof that was originally in a very deteriorated state.

For the project, it was decided not to place a support beam between the two slopes (ridges), thus enhancing the decorative finish of the wooden sandwich panels.

A CONTINUOUS INSULATION SYSTEM

In addition, in this installation the new continuous or tongue-and-groove insulation system ofTHERMOCHIP®, in which the four faces of the panel are assembled.

The result is a more stable and homogeneous roof, without thermal bridges or overloading of the structure. Thanks to its ergonomic format, it createsmore efficient and better insulated covers, facilitating and speeding up the implementation.
