Acoustic comfort in light systems: the new challenge

Acoustic comfort has become one of the main demands of users of homes and buildings. Sleeping without noise, working in a space free of sound interference or enjoying a conversation without excessive reverberations is today as important as energy efficiency or sustainability.

In this sense, light and industrialized construction usually faces a challenge:how to guarantee optimal acoustic insulation without losing lightness or speed of execution.

Multilayer panels THERMOCHIP: a comprehensive system

High-performance THERMOCHIP multi-layer sandwich panels have been designed to respond to this challenge. Thanks to the combination of materials and their modular configuration, they offer aperfect balance between structural lightness and acoustic performance.

Among its main advantages are:

  • Reduction of airborne noise and impact: Laboratory tests demonstrate its ability to minimize both airborne sounds (conversations, music, traffic) and those derived from impacts (footsteps, knocks).
  • Versatility of solutions: it is possible to integrate specific acoustic complements according to the use of the building, whether it is a single-family home, an apartment block, a hotel or an educational centre.
  • Lightness and ease of assembly: the low weight of the panels reduces physical efforts on site and speeds up installation, maintaining occupational safety.

Certification and technical confidence

One of the key aspects is that theAcoustic tests are recognized and endorsed by the ITeC DAU certification, which includes insulation benefits in its scope. This represents a direct guarantee for designers and developers: it is not necessary to carry out additional calculations to check the validity of the system in a specific use, since the panel has already been validated.

In this way, compliance with theDB-HR of CTE (Basic Noise Protection Document), an essential requirement for any new construction in Spain.

Applications in real projects

Acoustic insulation with multilayer panels is being successfully applied in multiple types:

  • Collective and single-family housing: where acoustic comfort translates into quality of life for residents.
  • Hotels and tourist accommodation: where room soundproofing is key to customer satisfaction.
  • Educational and health centers: spaces where concentration and rest depend largely on the absence of noise.

In all these cases, industrialized construction allows the building to be delivered in shorter deadlines and with guarantees of acoustic insulation from day one.

industrialisation without compromises

For years there was a prejudice that lightweight construction was less robust and that it offered inferior acoustic insulation than traditional systems. Today, technology and certification have dismantled this myth.

THERMOCHIP multi-layer panels demonstrate that industrialisation not only maintains acoustic comfort, but also raises it to a higher level, thanks to:

  • Industrial precision in its manufacturing.
  • Reducing errors on site.
  • The ability to integrate additional solutions adapted to each project.

Conclusion

Acoustic comfort is no longer an added value, but rather aessential requirementin any modern building. With certified multi-layer panels, industrialized construction offersquieter, healthier and more efficient spaces, without giving up speed, sustainability or lightness.

The future of architecture involves creating buildings that are as efficient as they are habitable. On this path, theindustrialisation and acoustic comfort go hand in hand.
