The Council of Ministers has approved aNational Energy Efficiency Fund(FNEE), initially endowed with 350 million euros, which will be allocated to reducing the energy consumption of homes. These funds will be used to finance, among other actions, theenergy rehabilitationof the thermal envelope of buildings or the renovation of roofs.
Within this new package of measures, a Energy Savings and Emissions Reduction Plan in Buildings aimed at the energy rehabilitation of the residential and tertiary sector such as hotels, National Health System centers or retail trade. The Plan will mobilize a total estimated annual investment of 892 million euros.
In addition, the Autonomous Communities will allocate 133 million euros from their FEDER funds to financeenergy savingin building.
The Plan joins the 200 million euros of the 2013-2016 Housing Plan for housing rehabilitation actions following energy efficiency criteria.
