Interview Grupo Briceño | industrialisation as a natural evolution of construction
With more than 50 years of experience in the metal sector, today we interviewLuis Martinez, manager ofGrupo Briceño, which has made industrialisation,…

We bring you an interview with Paco Campos, architect and founder ofPCL Architects Studio; in which he tells us about his relationship with industrialized construction, the advantages he sees in it and what Thermochip Housing brings him as a solution for the entire thermal envelope in his project.
Could you briefly introduce Estudio PCL architects and their project?
I’m Paco Campos. With studio in Aranjuez, practicing architect since 1996.
My main dedication has been residential construction, both collective and single-family homes, the latter being the one to which I have dedicated myself to a greater extent in recent years. An example of this is the EV home located in the PAU of Montaña de Aranjuez.

What is your relationship with industrialized construction so far?
The truth is very scarce. The reality is that my interest in industrialized construction is very high, in fact, I have held several meetings and conversations with those responsible for Thermochip regarding their construction system for years. However, I have not been able to get my clients to incorporate it into their projects for various reasons…lack of knowledge, lack of confidence in the new systems, prices that may not be so easy to close…etc.
So much so, that the first home in which I am incorporating an industrialized part is the one I am currently executing, thanks to the fact that the end client is myself. It is my future first home, in it, we are making a part of the façade with the SATE system of Thermochip.
In this first real contact with the system we have been able to verify the many advantages of thesystem in terms of ease of assembly, speed and cleanliness in execution and, above all, the quality of the installed material in order to fully comply with the requirements of the new regulations.and the necessary trend towards almost zero consumption buildings.
For you, what advantages do industrialized construction systems offer? And why do you think these procedures are chosen?
The advantages of industrialized construction are many, many, I would say. In a market like the current one in which construction labor is scarce and of very low quality, the incorporation of industrialized construction systems is going to be essential. Aspects such as quality control, speed and ease of assembly, maximum control in the amount of waste generated, cleanliness in construction processes, are decisive for industrialized construction to be incorporated as soon as possible, in part, or in whole, into current and future construction processes.
What added value can you offer your clients thanks to this type of construction?
First of all, quality control. Incorporating systems such as those offered by Thermochip in its so-called Thermochip Housing, means being able to guarantee very high quality in any type of construction. It continues to add certifications from different organizations such as the DAU, which includes the benefits of the system and demonstrates compliance with CTE in the case of Spanish regulations.
Why did you decide to bet on Thermochip? What do their constructive solutions give you?
For me it is essential that Thermochip is an open system. By this I mean that you can incorporate Thermochip and its solutions in a part of the construction or in the whole. You can make a façade, or a part of a façade, a floor, a floor, a roof, and each and every one of them include them within a separate traditional construction system. And in the same way you can solve the entire construction system of a building with the Thermochip Housing system. This, together with the quality of its products, makes Thermochip for me today a company that offers constructive solutions to take into account.
