Industrialized constructions (offsite) made in factories using modules are today the first option of a new type of client who is looking for something aesthetic, efficient and, above all, safe (control of prices and delivery times). Homes built with this methodology provide shorter execution times than brick and concrete houses, and can be ready within 3 – 4 months.
Kiwi Homesis a company located in the Barcelona area that specializes in this type of construction for modular homes. Currently, Kiwi is in the process of developing one of its projects, in which they have installed our systemsTHERMOCHIP® HOUSINGfor the enclosure of the roof, slab and façade.

Modular construction: the tandem of speed and precision
Andrés Navarra, founder and CEO of Kiwi, defines his company as “innovative within the construction sector. It is an industrialized housing manufacturing company through the use of shared software techniques (Lean+BIM). We have developed our own modular system which allows customization of each of the projects using the Off Site Construction methodology.” This methodology that Navarra mentions is one of the great advances in the world of construction, which will become the norm in the coming years. Offsite construction is based on the design and production of elements or “modules” outside their final location, and then installing them directly at the construction site, this allows savings, emitting less waste and optimizing construction times.
Kiwi Homes produces 85% of the housing in a controlled environment and only the remaining 15% is made on the plot, which allows them to minimize any incidents on the land, such as inclement weather, or maintain greater control of protection and safety measures during the COVID-19 crisis.
THERMOCHIP®HOUSING, the best ally for modular construction
Kiwi homes is in the process of building a single-family modular home in its factory in Girona and then moving it to the municipality of Rubí (Barcelona). Kiwi has found in our thermochip housing systems the perfect tool to carry out this type of project.
THERMOCHIP® ROOF, FLOORandSATEfrom the Housing range were chosen by Kiwi Homes to install on the roof, floor and façade of the home in Rubí. Our prefabricated systems provide high thermal insulation, elimination of thermal bridges and airtightness of the envelope, as well as quick and safe installation. These characteristics allow us to offer the end customer an extraordinary result in terms of energy efficiency that will greatly reduce their annual electricity bill.

The composition of the panels for our systemsTHERMOCHIP ROOF, FLOOR and SATE is the TFBcYwhich consists of a panel formed by a fiber-gypsum board in contact with the supporting structure, a continuous insulating core of extruded polystyrene (XPS) tongue-and-groove on 4 sides and a fiber-cement board on the outside. Thanks to their composition, excellent performance and ease of installation, industrialized thermochip housing solutions provide certainty in the design and execution of projects.
THERMOCHIP®and KIWI HOMES speak the same language
After 30 years in the market THERMOCHIP® has been able to adapt to the changes towards industrialisation and digitalization that are coming in the construction sector, and for this reason, it has launched its THERMOCHIP® HOUSING panel systems on the market together with an accompanying technical office service. This office offers advice to its clients in the design and execution phases of their projects with THERMOCHIP®, clarifying any doubts regarding regulatory compliance. The ultimate goal is for the client and individual to obtain the best possible result.

Andrés Navarra believes that this is key in the relationship between both companies, “THERMOCHIP® speaks the same language that Kiwi speaks with its clients. A clear, transparent language with a well-developed product. THERMOCHIP®’s product is fantastic, its people and their willingness to collaborate is even more so” For the CEO of Kiwi, this combination of product, knowledge and customer service will lead the companies to maintain a solid relationship in the future.
KIWI HOMES is committed to differentiating itself not only by offering a home, but also a pleasant and satisfactory experience in the process, the end customer is guaranteed a price and a fixed delivery time. In this way, we avoid all the headaches that an individual suffers in the process of building their home, such as delays, price changes or inefficient materials. All Kiwi homes have an A energy rating. To find out more information about Kiwi, you can do sohere.
