THERMOCHIP covers the Construction Labor Foundation in Galicia with 1,437 square metres

The headquarters of the Construction Labor Foundation in Galicia is located in what was an old tannery in Pontepedriña de Arriba (Santiago de Compostela), on the banks of the Sarela River. The structure of this centre is an old tanning factory that dates back to the 18th century and has an adjacent land, which, together with the building, totals 23,000 square metres. The centre has a constructed area of ​​4,700 m2, of which 2,900 m2 come from the rehabilitation of existing buildings, and 1,800 m2, from new buildings.

ThisprojectDesigned by Víctor López Cotelo (2015 national architecture award), and Ángel Panero Pardo (architect of the Santiago consortium), it has preserved the construction typology of the area, adapting the old factory to its new purposes as a training centre. The excellent final result of the work has received the Rehabilitation Award, in the 2018 edition of the “Architecture and Rehabilitation Awards of Galicia”.
