THERMOCHIP® sandwich panels in the project of a leisure residence in Córdoba

Paneles sándwich THERMOCHIP en la Residencia de los Montes Comunales de AdamuzA cover ofTHERMOCHIP® sandwich panelsis the protagonist of the projectFree Time Residence in the Communal Mountains of Adamuz(Córdoba), designed by architect Celedonio Garrido. The work, awarded the second prize of theProject Competition THERMOCHIP®In 2008, he proposed a total integration into the landscape of the Cordoban mountains as a “crack in the ground.”

The project, a tender promoted by the Department of Employment and Leisure Time of the Government of Andalusia, has been developed by the company UTE, formed by Celedonio Garrido and Jaime Gastalver. For the covers, theTHERMOCHIP® OSB (TOH) sandwich panels, which includes aOSB3 Oriented Particle Decorative Finishon its interior face. Composed of a 19 mm thick water-repellent chipboard board, a 50 mm extruded polystyrene insulating core and an inner face of 11 mm thick OSB oriented particle board with a natural finish.

NATURAL PRODUCTS LIKE STONE OR WOOD

Paneles sándwich THERMOCHIP en la Residencia de los Montes Comunales de AdamuzThe residence is located in anatural environmentprivileged, the Communal Mountains of Adamuz. Seeking the landscape integration of the project, the architect has chosen to “half-bury” it so that it is camouflaged in the mountains of Adamuz as a “crack in the ground”, as the architect explains in his plans. In the rooms thenatural lightthanks to a glass facade. Also chosen was agreen coverfacing south, to regulate the air conditioning of the building.

The desired result is atotal architectural integrationwithin a unique natural enclave. To do this, natural products have been chosen, from wood to both the covers made withTHERMOCHIP® sandwich panels as well as the structure itself, which includes wooden straps, to the limestone from the quarries of Adamuz – known as “molinaza stone” – which will be used to cover the floors of the rooms and common areas.
