THERMOCHIP® sandwich panels in the rehabilitation of a farmhouse

sandwich panelsTHERMOCHIP® are the protagonists of the rehabilitation of a farmhouse in the Sierra de Aitana(Alicante) by the architect Pedro Hernández. The project, awarded second prize in the Project Competition in 2010THERMOCHIP®,  It is a modern and elegant design that used thesandywood panels THERMOCHIP® Fir (TAH) to improve the thermal insulation and decorative finish of this old home rehabilitated for family use.

From a renovation that preserved the stone walls of the previous building, new floors and roofs were created based onTHERMOCHIP® panels. An 859 m2 roof of sandwich panels distributed in two structures. Firstly, a beam board formed bypanels THERMOCHIP® TAHwith a 13 mm water-repellent chipboard interior board, a 60 mm extruded polystyrene core and a 19 mm exterior pallet finish. Secondly, a wooden deck made up of panels THERMOCHIP® TAHwith a 13 mm water-repellent chipboard board, a 100 mm extruded polystyrene core and a 19 mm lacquered wooden pallet outer board.Lasur Blanco.

SYNDWICH PANELS FOR CONTEMPORARY SPACES

Surrounded by amediterranean environment, this old farmhouse is connected to the outside through glass doors that bring light to the beautiful wooden ceilings THERMOCHIP®. The kitchen and dining room, united on a single floor in the same way as the living room, are open spaces in which a contemporary touch mixed with rustic style predominates.

The purity, naturalness and harmony of tones and lines is maintained throughout the house withlight wood coveringson the floors, painted in white on the ceilings ofTHERMOCHIP®, as well as upholstery in natural tones. Unlike other products, theTHERMOCHIP® continuous insulation systemIt allows you to create more stable and homogeneous roofs, by being able to assemble the four sides of the panels. This system eliminates the appearance of thermal bridges, facilitates the installation of the panels and guarantees continuous insulation.
