The Hotel manager, Kimberly Rooijakkers, tells us that the property was an old coconut plantation, and they have sought to maintain the natural soul of the environment, combining the relaxed style of Aruba with the “small European town” concept. Currently the Boardwalk Boutique is made up of 25 small buildings that house 46 “casitas”, a cozy lobby, 2 swimming pools and tropical gardens with seating areas. The complex is located a few steps from the famous “Palm Beach”. The casitas that make up the hotel are the hallmark of this project; they are differentiated according to the degree of comfort and size they offer. They all have an outdoor area with dining room, hammock and barbecue. Its extensions range from 75m2 units to 125 m2 with all the comfort necessary to spend a few days of rest and luxury in the Caribbean. Inside we will find different themes, from the so-called “plunge pool casita” with its own private pool, until the“Palapa Lodge”It has a rounded cover.

The Boardwalk houses with wooden decks THERMOCHIP® TAH

The panelsTHERMOCHIP® TAHbelonging to the rangeTHERMOCHIP® ROOF, were chosen to cover the decks of the famous Boardwalk Boutique houses. Our prefabricated panels for sloping roofs, THERMOCHIP® TAH, are made up of a water-repellent chipboard, an extruded polystyrene (XPS) core and fir decking inside, offering the possibility of building decks with the added value of the decking in different decorative options.

Kimberly Rooijakkers, hotel manager, explains to us that the THERMOCHIP® panels were chosen for their high insulation capacity, which allows maintaining a stable and pleasant temperature inside the rooms, and providing a decorative finish (in this case white laminated flooring), which was in line with the minimalist design of the interior.

THERMOCHIP®a fast and efficient construction system

The installation process of our THERMOCHIP® panels in each house only took a few hours, thanks to its assembly system with a4-sided male-female system. THERMOCHIP® TAH has provided each infrastructure with the homogeneity and stability necessary to withstand the strong gusts of wind that can occur on the island of Aruba.

Additionally, a waterproofing layer has been installed for our system.THERMOCHIP® ROOF PLUSwhich consists of a waterproof sheet adhered to the panel, which adds an extra function of resistance to the passage of water. The perfect placement of the sheet from the origin and the adhesive tape for joining the system between panels guarantees correct waterproofing, reducing possible layout errors.
