Thermochip makes available to its clients the possibility of carrying out the “Thermochip BlowerPass” test for all works executed with the solutionThermochip Housing. This test, based on the Blower Door method, is the most efficient way to detect air infiltrations in buildings and evaluate the permeability of the envelope. By carrying out this test you can measure the hermetic capacity of the building, the tightness, calculate the air changes per hour and analyze the leak rate.
Although buildings need controlled ventilation to maintain air quality, there are also infiltrations through the envelope that generate unwanted air exchanges. These may arise due to the porosity of the construction materials, unidentified openings or poorly finished joints. Likewise, infiltrations can cause other problems such as noise, entry of dirt, odors, exterior smoke and other contaminants. Carrying out the testThermochip BlowerPassIt allows us to discover design or installation errors, and give the client one more guarantee of compliance with the initial objectives in terms of temperature and energy consumption of the chosen enclosure.
The thermal envelope, made up of enclosures such as: façade, roof, floor and unconditioned spaces, are mainly responsible for maintaining the temperature inside, so transmittance, tightness and execution in its design is a key factor. To create efficient constructions and avoid energy losses, it is essential to control losses due to unwanted infiltrations. The certified systemThermochip Housingfor enclosures ECCN offers all the necessary features to ensure the airtightness of a project built with this solution. The buildings created with this system lack thermal bridges, thanks to their continuous thermal insulation layer that prevents temperature transmission and the appearance of condensation.
The BlowerDoor test: essential to obtain Passivhaus home certification
The new DB-HE update of theTechnical building code, takes into account in section 3 of HE1 the air permeability of the thermal envelope. The limit value of the air change ratio with a pressure of 50 Pa must be justified. The values to be achieved will depend on the compactness of the building and the determination of air permeability, this can be obtained by testing with method B of the UNE-EN 13829:2002 standard (Annex H CTE-DB-HE) which is the standard on which the test is established Thermochip BlowerPass.
The Thermochip® Housing solution is a certified system that has gone through strict quality controls in its manufacturing process and its performance as an enclosure for zero-consumption buildings has been validated by official organizations and laboratories such as theITeC, or thePassivHaus Institute, having recently received certification as a Passive House construction system. This makes our proposal an ideal enclosure to comply with the airtight standards established to obtain the passive house seal.
