Industrialized facades make their way into modern architecture

As a representation of the intimate relationship between architecture, innovation and industry, we find the latest project of theValencian studio ARCarquitectes, in Benidorm. This wonderful single-family house has been designed on a mixed concrete and steel structure, where the façade has been resolved with the systemThermochip SATEfrom the Thermochip Housing range. This solution has been anchored on a galvanized steel profile structure that has been used for the passage of facilities, resolving the interior with a laminated plaster coating. As final exterior coverings, ceramic and stone cladding, single-layer flexible mortar and wooden paneling have been used.

The Thermochip SATE for industrialized facades is based on a system of multi-layer panels, composed of a fiber-gypsum board in contact with the supporting structure, a continuous insulating core of extruded polystyrene (XPS), tongue-and-groove on four sides, and a fiber-cement board on its outer face.

All the enclosures of the house were executed in 15 days, with excellent results in terms of thermal and acoustic insulation. The home enjoys perfect climatic comfort. Archarquitectes emphasize that the systemThermochip SATE has been perfectly adapted to the different types of coatings used, resulting in a very flexible and versatile system for any type of project.. Likewise, the THERMOCHIP HOUSING range allows freedom in the choice of structures, which can be a mixed structure as in this project, or wooden frames, hot rolled steel,steel framing, industrialized construction in 2D, 3D, among others.

The enclosure of the façade with Thermochip SATE has allowed rapid execution, and control of insulation and thermal bridges, providing all the strength of a Passivhaus certified system such as Thermochip Housing. However, Thermochip offers solutions that allow projects to be carried out comprehensively for all the enclosures of the envelope: facades, roofs and floors.

 The Thermochip Housing systems, in addition to high thermal insulation, provide a high level of performance, well above current regulatory requirements in the areas of acoustic insulation, fire safety, protection against humidity, protection barrier against radon gas and high airtightness and watertightness performance. The Thermochip proposal has become a reference as an industrialized construction system, obtaining thefirst document of adaptation to the use of integral envelope (DAU), and becoming the first Spanish company to obtain thePassivhaus certification as an integral envelope construction system. Likewise, this range has been awarded for its commitment toenergy efficiency in construction solutions, in the 2021 housing awards.
