THERMOCHIP FENÓLICO en el Centro de Arte de LéridaThe museum, a platform for the production, dissemination, training and production of the visual arts, maintains the volume and geometric shape of the old grain warehouse of Arab origin. The architect in charge of the project,Ezequiel Usón Guardiola, took into account thearchitectural originsof the building, dating back to the 12th or 13th centuries, which had a structure ofwooden coveringsupported by stone columns.

WOODEN TRUSSES AND PURLS

THERMOCHIP FENÓLICO en el Centro de Arte de LéridaFor the work, the circular pillars and stone masonry were preserved, which were used again in the reconstruction of the building. The cover ofTHERMOCHIP® Phenolic (TFH)was completed withwooden trusses and purlins. The building, which has a large exhibition room, has a central skylight that provides greater brightness, intensifying the beautiful grains of the birch wood.

Outside, a new lobby was built to access the building, made up of a metal structure. The combination of traditional materials such as the stone of the columns and the wood ofTHERMOCHIP® on the roof turns this museum into an excellent example of architectural integration.
