What is thermal insulation, energy efficiency and thermal envelope?

Paneles sándwich THERMOCHIPThermal insulation, energy efficiency, thermal envelope, sustainability… These are qualities that the THERMOCHIP® sandwich panels but not everyone understands. Today we want to explain to you what we are talking about when we use these concepts inedification:

THERMAL INSULATION: ability of materials to establish a barrier to heat leakage. It allows you to achieve an environment with high comfort. He Technical Building Code(CTE) specifies the minimum insulation necessary to protect us from thermal oscillations, depending on the climatic zone.

CLIMATE ZONE: extension of the territory that has a climate determined by its temperature, precipitation, winds… To delimit the Energy Demand,12 climate zonesidentified with a letter (A,B,C,D,E) for winter and a number (1,2,3,4) for summer.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY: in building, represents the aspects ofenergy saving. The energy certificate shows a letter grade that varies from A to G, depending on the CO2 emitted by energy consumption in heating, cooling, hot water and lighting installations.

ENERGY DEMAND: is the energy necessary to keep the interior of a building at a certain level.comfort conditionsdepending on its use and the climatic zone in which it is located. It is made up of the energy demand for heating and cooling of the home.

THERMAL ENCLOSURE: is composed of allenclosuresthat limit the habitable spaces from the exterior environment and by all the interior divisions that limit the habitable spaces from the non-habitable ones that in turn are in contact with the exterior environment.

THERMAL TRANSMITANCE: used to express theinsulating capacityof a construction element. From a physical point of view, it means the amount of energy that flows through the surface of the element.

SUSTAINABILITY: is aimed atreduce environmental impactthrough the use of materials that do not pollute and offer lower energy consumption.
